The shops, bars, restaurants and other businesses in Heredia, Alajuela and San Carlos, will be visited by the Directorate General of Taxation in the coming days.
This program is part of the control actions of the obligations it has to fulfill the taxpayers, and will be held from Monday to Sunday during November and December.
In total will visit 2418 establishments to know their status in the Integrated Tax Administration Information (SIIAT), for example, debt, default or omission in filing tax returns or information.

Ronald Solorzano, Northern Regional Directorate of Taxation, said that businesses are obliged to provide the information requested, or face fines of more than 700,000 colones. In business that have failures are given a grace period to correct their situation voluntarily.
The plan seeks to inform citizens and taxpayers about the changes made with the new Law on Strengthening Tax Management.
