The World Economic Forum released its Global Report on Information Technology between 2011 and 2012. This analysis evaluates the impact of information technology and communications in the development process and competitiveness of 142 countries. Barbados, Chile and Uruguay are in first place in Latin America and the Caribbean, followed by Panama. Costa Rica ranks fifth in Latin American and 58th worldwide.
