9 Month Baby With H1N1 In Costa Rica Children’s Hospital
A 9-month baby is admitted to the National Children’s Hospital because it was confirmed to have the flu AH1N1. The baby is from Aserrí neighborhood.
Rodolfo Hernandez, director of the medical center, said the child is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Hernandez added, that the 7 patients who are admitted to the ICU with respiratory problems, of which 3 are from Heredia, Alajuela 1, 1 and the Aserrí Puntarenas.
Pneumonia, asthma, oxygen dependents, and viruses are affected by other diseases that have affected children.
“There are 221 patients in the National Children’s Hospital, 12% have respiratory problems and of all those arriving in the hospital, 19% have respiratory problems,” he said Hernandez.
Respiratory diseases increase significantly both in the adult population in the youth community which has caused an unusual increase in the number of cases.
Details of the Institute for Research and Education on Nutrition and Health (incenses) reveals that they confirmed 20 cases of H1N1, seasonal flu and 70 of 90 of other viruses.
