New Mayor Set to Take Over in Perez Zeledon
Vera Corrales will be sworn in this afternoon, at 3 pm, as the new mayor of the canton of Perez Zeledon in place of Luis Mendieta, who was recalled by a plebiscite held on December 18.

First Deputy Mayor will lead the sixth most populous municipality in the country with 135,000 inhabitants, after the Constitutional Court yesterday paved the way to the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) to withdraw the credential to Mendieta.
Speaking to radio DNA , Corrales said her priority will be to give solutions to the waste collection and road network.
She added that takes priority because it was what earned her the vote of the people.
The inauguration will take place at the Cultural Complex in San Isidro.
