9 Out Of 10 Ticos Don’t Believe Chinchilla Has Control of Government
Nearly 9 in 10 citizens believe that the President of the Republic, Laura Chinchilla, does not control the government. This perception is reflected in the latest National Public Opinion Survey, prepared by the firm Unimer between 4 and 10 January.
- The majority would vote again for a woman.
- Only 11% rated as ‘good’ work of ministers.
- Tackling crime is once again the priority
- Corruption confidence deteriorates further
Four months after the first woman president in his second year of work, 85% responded that she does not control the government. Another 13% said yes and just under 2% refused to say.
In what context was the question to the citizens?
Before inquiring, the surveyors looked at 1,200 people how to describe the management of the ruler, her ministers and public expenditure management. Also if you feel that this government is solving the problems of the country, if undertaking actions for the benefit of a few industries or people in mind, and the perceived level of corruption.
After this series of questions, they asked: “In short, do you consider that Mrs. Laura Chinchilla has control of the direction and management of the Government or do you think not?”
From there the data emerges.
This survey has a margin of error of 2.8 percentage points up or down for each data and included the views of over 18 personal interviews consulted throughout the country.
