Coffee Junkies – Starbucks is COMING SOON!
The world renown coffee mega vendor, Starbucks, will be opening their first store in San Jose in May of this year.
The specific location has yet to be announced.
“We are very excited to introduce our high-quality coffee and the Starbuck’s experience to our clients in Costa Rica,” said Pablo Arizmendi-Kalb, vice president and CEO for Starbuck’s Latin America.
Starbucks originally began in Seattle, Washington in the United States and is known for it’s mocas and Frappuchinos and pastry deserts.
They will be managed by Corporación de Franquicias Americanas (Corporation of American Franchises).
The food distribution giant also manages chains like Pizza Hut, KFC, Wendy’s and China Wok.
It was believed for many years that Starbucks was delaying opening a branch here in Costa Rica because of fear of insulting the Costa Ricans, whom they buy their beans from, by exposing their massive profit margins. IE: 1 Grande of Costa Rican blend in the USA is $4.50
