Strange Sound Heard Throughout Costa Rica
Is it the mysterious sound of the so-called coming Apocalypse? Some think that the mysterious sound heard in Costa Rica at around 12:30am this morning is exactly that.
Ronny Quintero, a seismologist said the event should be studied at the exact time and location of the anomalies to determine with certainty that there was no earthquake. He added that depending on the location of those who claim they heard the rumble or ”The Hum” it is easy to dismiss the possibility of tectonic movements.
This news has rattled the social web whereas Costa Ricans and the world over are scrambling to figure out what this mysterious sound could have been. Authorities have yet to comment on the subject although OVSICORI, the Costa Rica Volcanologist and Seismologist Organization is saying there is no Earth movements recorded at the time of the strange sound.
Here is a YouTube video showing how it sounded. The second video was filmed in Kiev, Ukraine where the sound has also appeared.
It is important to note that this is not the wind nor was it filmed anywhere near the ocean. The sound was heard throughout the entire country from Heredia to Perez Zeledon.

This sound is being heard all over the world including in Victoria, BC, Canada to Russia and China. It is a very strange sound that no one can explain and now it happened in Costa Rica!
my question is how no one can explain that to anybody and when this happened in another country ??

I live in Costa Rica and heard the weird sound as many many others, it happened abou 11:55pm actually. I have witnessed how the local media is now trying to confuse people by saying (with very contradictory arguments) that it was just a firework.

Hi, I live in Costa Rica and also heard it, just to make it clear, the sound was most like the one you can hear in youtube video called "Strange Sounds in Colorado Before Earthquake", but they were more frequent and the "boom" happended like 50 to 100 times in about 5-10 minutes, I thought it was like fireworks until I read the news today were people from distant areas of the country also reported it. Christian Ruiz The reason why we can not find so many videos or recordings is this: at the time it happened, almost everybody was sleeping or in my case, I was in my bedroom watching TV, then I started hearing that noise, but wait, it sounded familiar to me, it was like a huge firework taking place, so I did not really pay any special attention to it and continued doing what I was doing, but, the next day you noticed that, unfortunately, it was not a common at all, because it was heard all over the country and there is when you say to yourself: damn, why I did not get outside and recorded it with my cellphone. is everybody in the whole world stupid? cranes! buildings with weak supports! even the plates shifting! the apocolypse isn't some intelligent being, I mean there are so many logical explanations, the apocolypse isn't one of them.
There is no way that this sound was originated from buildings or large trucks/cranes that don't exist in this country, fireworks: no way, there are reports that this sound was heard in almost the whole country, we're talking of a very large area, according to these reports I estimate more than 450 square miles even when we are sorrounded by a lot of mountains that could have stopped the sound. I am not saying this is the end of the world, but definitely this is something we don't hear everyday, I'm still looking for a logical reason that doesn't have good explanation so far, well and it seems I will not, anyways it was awesome!

Mysterious sounds here in San Jose, California. My daughter and I would hear them at night and what was strange was we would both get headaches and dizzy from it. I kept telling my son and husband what we were hearing and they thought we were nuts until they heard it as well. It sounds almost like a bass player thumping, but it's a continuous note. We can't pinpoint where it's coming from, except that it sounds like it's coming from deep underground. The Police have been called out by our neighbors as well and the Police are stumped. I've Googled what we were hearing and there is one other recording from Mexico that sounds just like what we're hearing.

That second video is something else. Either someone is playing games somehow or this is legit. It's pretty rhythmic so it's hard to believe it's a result of mother nature.

I've been hearing such sounds now and again for nearly 50 years in various areas of the world so this is hardly new. In the Costa Rica these sound like low-level wind flow through the shaft-spaces of the tall buildings. I've heard this before where wind builds over wide open spaces and then 'squeezes' between tall buildings or rock formations. The Colorado sounds mentioned are akin, appropriately large-shifting rocks or plates pounding.

ok, This is WIERD, because I've been hearing an Omonous hum lately, and at one point I turned off my soundsystem and I could still hear it. then I heard it again upstairs and I check electrical things around the house. nothing, but I could hear this REALLY LOW hum. I looked it up, because I know of the phenomena of the TAOS Hummers in Taos New Mexico. if you listen carefully in Taos your supposed to always be able to hear a low hum.

It reminds me of a steel structure bridge with vehicles driving across it – the way the car sounds will echo and reverberate. The sounds will be louder when a heavier vehicle crosses over, due to the weight and additional stress put upon it.

Well all I can say is that we heard the first one with the wind coming in waves around 1:30am late last night. My husband and I thought that was very strange it sounded like the ocean waves but wind waves- we listen for about half an hour and felt asleep…so I don't know? we check the weather news but reported nothing in our area–this was in Sanford, NC, USA.

My blood FROZE when I heard the first sound in this clip, as it's ***identical*** to what I heard last week.. I'm a night-owl, and heard this same sound last Tues, Wed, Thurs between 4 and 6 am… It would make the sound for a good long time, then it would break for a few minutes then start again… The first 2 nights I'd wondered if the city was maybe doing some emergency road repairs anywhere nearby… But it was also in the teens temp wise, so that is doubtful. Also read nothing about any repairs in paper or online, & not seen any signs of recent roadwork in the surrounding neighborhoods..
The sound also REALLY bothered my corgie dog each night. She'd sit there cocking her head,…listening, barking quietly and growling for 3 nights straight, stopped when the noises stopped, and hasn't done it since then & I've not heard the noise since then either… NO snowplows were running (no snow at the time!), no earthquakes in the area…. I heard noises in the sky one evening when I was letting my dogs out. it was low cloud and had been raining, so the sky wasnt clear at all. it sounded like planes but not your usual planes, more rumbling.
