12 Ticos Responsible For Drug Transport Ring
Twelve people who controlled a network that distributed drugs in at least six cantons, in buses and trucks, were captured yesterday morning by the Judicial Police.
The suspects were arrested in different parts of Limón, Heredia, San José and Alajuela, thanks to multiple searches.
Jorge Rojas Vargas, director of the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ), said at a news conference that the arrests were carried out after entering to 12 homes, a restaurant and a clothing store.
Prisoners surnames are Jiron (overall leader), Camacho (leader in Siquirres), Sandi, Pinar, Cambronero, Obando, González (Sarapiquí), Corea, Moya, Orozco, Rojas and Moya. All were linked to the illegal trafficking of drugs.
Rojas said that the band distributed between 10 and 15 kilos of cocaine and marijuana each week.
