Costa Rica To Appoint Ambassador To Nicaragua Following Court Choice
Costa Rica’s Foreign Ministry says it is prepared to name its new ambassador to Managua when they have totally reviewed the interim measures selection of the International Court of Justice resolution on the conflict with Nicaragua.
At the starting of her administration, presidenta Laura Chinchilla appointed Melvin Saenz to the post. But right after the begin of the conflict with Nicaragua, he was named as coordinator of the strategic group and the government did not see it fit to send him to Managua and is now named ambassador in Panama.
Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Roverssi, confirmed that an ambassador will be named shortly.
Roverssi pointed out that despite the fact that there is no ambassador the Managua embassy is functioning usually.
